Waaaay back in the mid 1990’s I was working with the famous childrens’ author Stephen Cosgrove on the Earth Angels book series. It was a semi-crazed time with tight deadlines and daily “Are you done yet?” calls from the author. I’ll leave it to you to see if you spot one rather large error I made when hurrying through the illustrations. (Insert embarassed laughter here) There are strong rumors the series is about to be reborn as digital books. I’ll keep you posted.
Alongside his Wordsmithing, Stephen has always loved performing and is especially good with audio versions of his books. My daughter used to listen to these every night as she sailed off to dreamland. The music and sound effects, plus Stephen’s voice truly bring the stories to life. The New and Improved versions are popping up on Stephen’s site as free Pod KidCasts and the most recent is the story of Ruby & Sputters that I illustrated in 1995.
